Midnight Thoughts

To catch you up on various things that have happened in the past couple weeks:
9) Sick.
Felt slightly sick a couple of days ago, but have been fine since. Guess it wasn't anything too serious. I think that a couple bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a bath did the trick :)
8) Park.
Missed the memo about wearing athletic clothes and not carrying a purse. Saw a band of wild dogs claiming an area and letting everyone around them know it. Saw the most pathetic "zoo" ever - bunch of birds, turtles, and the largest rodent known to man.
7) Hotel de Lago.
99 degrees. 80 Bs. Gigantic pool + palm trees + cabana with pina coladas. Caught a nice breeze sitting by the lake.
6) Loud noises.
Fireworks or gunshots? Thunder or a bomb? We may never know.
5) Aruba tickets!
I'm glad my visa doesn't renew itself.
4) Shorter water shortage.
A couple people have found themselves soapy in the shower with no water to rinse off with. Hope I don't push my luck.
3) Dim lighting.
It's always dark everywhere in this apartment! And light bulbs are hard to come by.
2) Patacones, Arepas, y Pabellon.
First two are similar to tacos inside, but with (patacone:) plantain "bun" or cornmeal/"grits" bun. Pabellon is the Maracuchen meal of shredded meat, rice, beans, and plantains. :)
1) Earthquake.
Thought I was shaking the desk (which is very attached to the wall). Thought I was dizzy. Thought we should run out of the apartment building.
